But in this day and age, there are few that can live up to the weight of all these words; and New Jersey Native, Nick Javas, is one of them. The young entertainer is exploding onto the hip hop scene with a sound so original that you’ll feel like you’re taking in a breath of fresh air. With poetic verses blending everything from heartfelt life experience to comedic prose, Nick Javas has been capturing the attention of audiences and critics worldwide.
Whether it’s on tour with Hip Hop Legend, DJ Premier, or during the Pepsi Max NFL Audible, which spawned from Nick’s original idea, NFL Rhyme Reel, Nick’s talent and versatility is unmatched. Nick Javas was born and raised in Union, NJ where he got his first taste of super stardom as an all-star athlete in both football and baseball. While at Rutgers University, Nick was on the path to fulfilling one of his childhood dreams of playing in the NFL. But when a devastating knee-injury cut Nick’s football dreams short, he found strength and inspiration where he least expected it; through hip hop. Using writing as a therapeutic outlet, Nick noticed his words naturally flowed in rhyme, and after some convincing he decided to take his pen and pad into the booth.
With only one studio session under his belt, Nick made his performance debut at the New York Music Festival, where he beat over 50 competitors for first prize. At that moment it became clear to everyone, Nick Javas had found his calling. It was a combination of Nick’s ability to spit rhymes and his confidence and swag that caught the attention of the Legendary DJ Premier. It wasn’t long before Premier decided that the fiery kid from New Jersey was the missing link to his new label and Nick was signed to Year Round Records.
Touring the world with DJ Premier, Nick has captivated audiences with his performance energy, lyrical creativity, and his natural charm. Nick Javas fans and critics are waiting, watching, and anticipating what’s next for the young artist who is more renaissance man than rapper.
Nick’s first album, “Destination Unknown, “will take listeners on a ride through one man’s journey riddled with struggles and adversity to ultimately fulfill his personal legend. The prequel to the Album, a full length summer mix tape entitled, “De-Tour,” is a feel good soundtrack to summer living. And with the upcoming NFL season, Nick’s definitely got some tricks up his sleeve for the highly anticipated return of NFL Rhyme Reel.
